On a night that had the F16 teams nervous for the safety of their boats, with one Viper flipping on the beach breaking the spinnaker pole 85knots of wind was recorded at the heads to Port Phillip Bay.
It was still unsure that there would be any more sailing earlier this morning but the winds abated to 10- 15 knots by 9:30 in the morning with a 1 m chop.
The F1’s have just left the beach for races 7,8 and 9 back to back with the wind speed dropping further. It looks to be a tough session with light winds and steep short chop.
